I began my Business Emi B Designs in 2014 after studying Fashion at College. The Business began after a love for making and creating and I spent a few years attending a variety of craft fairs and markets selling my handmade items such as bags, cushions and various other items.
Alongside this I was working part time in a Local Fabric shop who suggested I taught a beginner sewing class for them. At first I wondered what it was I could possibly teach someone but have always jumped in and tried things and I am so glad that I did.
From there I shifted the business into teaching others to sew and this is something I have now done for the past 5+ years. I have done this in person with face to face teaching in both groups and one to one first for various local fabric shops and then finally opening my own sewing school.
Unfortunately due to the pandemic in 2019 I was forced to close and unable to teach face to face. This again shifted the business and now I teach online through an online membership programme, with my downloadable sewing patterns and teaching through various social media channels such as YouTube and TikTok.
I also regularly appear on Sewing Street a UK TV Shopping Channel as a guest Designer after wining their search for a sewing star completion back in April 2022.
