Hi There, I'm Emily

Hi, I’m Emily Gillott, the founder of Emi B Designs — a Yorkshire-based business designing and manufacturing innovative sewing tools using 3D printing and laser cutting technology.

What started back in 2014 on a small market stall in Barnsley, selling handmade items, has grown into a family-run business with a big passion for sewing and creativity. From those early days, I went on to teach sewing classes in venues across Barnsley, eventually running my own sewing studio until the Covid-19 pandemic shifted the direction of the business.

That shift led to what Emi B Designs is today: a brand focused on creating practical, high-quality sewing tools, all designed and made in Yorkshire, with the long-term goal of becoming a true sewing tool superstore.

From Dream to Reality...

In 2022, I was incredibly proud to win Sewing Street’s Search for a Star competition, and I now regularly appear on the UK TV shopping channel showcasing my tools and sharing my love of sewing with a wider audience.

I’m currently on maternity leave after welcoming my first baby in November 2025, alongside my husband Sam and our 5 year old fur baby, Freddie 🐾. During this time, the business is being lovingly run by my dad Graham, who oversees manufacturing and order management— making Emi B Designs very much a family business at heart. Not forgetting other family members who have helped at so many stages, Emily's Mum, Aunty and of course Sam.
